Vague Manipulation/Manipulation - The most commonly used post tactic and undoubtedly the most reviled. This is largely a natural reaction to an opponent's post, and is typically done instinctually just by reading your enemy's post and discovering flaws or loopholes (which is natural because what one imagines is likely differerent from what another imagines). Manipulators took advantage of these holes or contradictions and utilize them to their advantage. Beyond manipulating the post and words in it and using them against your opponent in some way, there is also what's known as "detail kill" which takes advantage of the vagueness or lack of detail and fill in that "hole" with what you have in mind. Basically, if an opponent doesn't write something in their post, then it either does not exist or it can leave up to interpretation of your will. However, extreme detail kill will likely result in vague manipulation that simply does not work in the eyes of the staff. Easiest thing to do. An example of vague manipulation that borders on extremity and permissible would be voiding a jutsu by saying that an opponent does not say they molded, manipulated, or channeled their chakra. A more permissible detail kill would be if voiding a jutsu if an opponent does not state they're doing hand seals. A more extreme example would be the classic "opponent no breath air so he diez!"

Hiding Attacks, "Vagueness", and Sentence Phrasing/Structure: Hiding one's attacks in one' post usually refers some degree of vagueness of the attack to make it not seem blatantly obvious to the enemy that there is an attack coming right at them or that the user activated a jutsu. This borders less on being direct and specific, but being more detailed and descriptive in order to show instead of telling what is happening. These sentences are phrased and structured in a way that you either miss it or can't tell what's going on, and dismiss it as an innocent sentence or just plain-out irrelevant filler nonsense. If the description of the attack takes up only one sentence, then  this tactic works best, and is even enhanced if it's one sentence sitting mid-way in a very large block of text post. This usually requires a good grasp and level of mastery over the English language. "Show, Don't Tell" in general is also a form of this tactic.

"Jutsu Dice Roll" Tactic: A form of hiding and preparating a jutsu at the same time. Basically, the user executes and prepares a jutsu at or near the end of one's post, and then picks up from there in the next post, revealing the jutsu. This is best done if one just says they're doing handseals and then "hold" that jutsu, which is where the post ends. This can incite the opponent into a trap depending on the jutsu used. This could be effective as the jutsu can be anything, so the opponent is left guessing what it could be. This also gives the user more time to choose what jutsu is being used and fit it accordingly to whatever the opponent does in the next post. However, this could also be vague-manipulated and used horrendously against the user of this tactic. Therefore, it is best to write something more specific, although it would narrow down one's options more. Any form where one holds a jutsu and does not reveal it in that same post is a form of this tactic.

Hypotheticals: Hypothetically covering future events could also be considered a rp battle topic. Basically "if the opponent does this, I will do this." This usually results in auto-hits, as failure to address hypothetical events if it does occur would lead to the hypothetical event coming true.

Non-linearty: A writing/post tactic where one sequences events in a non-chronological order, which may assist in confusing readers. This could be especially effective if used alongside other tactics like hypotheticals or hiding attacks.
